Do it Yourself Acid Stain project in Dallas/Fort Worth? We can help!

All right! You've made the decision, out with that horribly stained carpet you've put up with for years, or it's time to dress up that patio in the back that's just plain jane concrete, and acid staining is exactly the look you want. Maybe money is a little too tight to hire a professional or you just like the challenge of doing it yourself. Whatever the reason, you've made the decision to move forward. Of course you didn't just jump in, you did your homework, took your time and read our acid staining guide, browsed the internet for more information, looked at hundreds of pictures, even got advice from the guy who sold you the acid stains and sealers, and you're as prepared as you can be.

The start day finally arrives and just as you're pulling up that carpet or starting to power wash that patio you think, "what if I'm forgetting something"? It happens, and I can't tell you how many phone calls I've received over the years from local Dallas or Fort Worth do it yourselfers who had the best intentions but who's projects got completely out of hand.

The number one mistake I come across is that people don't buy the right type of stain. If you bought your stain from a big box store, it's almost 100% guaranteed that it's not an acid stain. Most big box stores sell "concrete stains" not "concrete acid stains" and, understandably, the average do it yourselfer doesn't know the difference. Acid stains are reactive in nature. Through this reactive process they create a beautiful, translucent color on concrete that still allows all of the floor's personality to come through. Concrete stains, on the other hand, are pigmented paints that tend to cover the floor in a fairly uniform looking coat, not translucent, and generally less resistant to wear and tear.

Wow! That would have been a big mistake and right at the start of the project!

Now, wouldn't it be nice to have someone in your corner who can give you an idea of the tools you need to start the project? What to do if you encounter glue lines, cracks, holes, and all the other gunk that's hiding just underneath that carpet? How to apply the acid stain or concrete sealer? These are just some of the tips and information we can offer for your do it yourself acid staining project if you are located anywhere in the Dallas and Fort Worth Metroplex area.

Now don't get me wrong, we're not going to do the project for you (unless you want to hire us for that), instead we are going to visit with you at your project, walk through it and look for trouble areas, show you some of the techniques we use for doing our work, and then be available for follow up phone calls if you need more help as you do the work. Here is what you get for your money:

  • Initial evaluation of your do it yourself project anywhere in the Dallas Fort Worth area.
  • Up to two hours of on-site, detailed instructions on how to complete a do it yourself acid stained project. Includes an information package that goes over the tools you will need, how to use them, maintenance instructions, shortcuts, safety information, and other general tips.
  • Up to two thirty minute follow up calls if you need more help during your do it yourself project.

Pricing for this consultation service is $250. If you would like for us to visit you on the job site anywhere in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex after the initial evaluation for a question and answer session of up to one hour we charge $85 per visit.
